Bowling for Rob

Rob was a bowler. He was captain of our high school bowling team and a lifelong bowling enthusiast, so there are few things he would have enjoyed more than seeing a bowling alley filled with family and friends (see some throwback bowling photos with Rob below).

This year, about 40 of us came together for an afternoon of bowling, food, and fun in Rob’s memory. Surrounded by posters with photos of some of our favorite moments with him, we bowled, laughed, caught up, and spent time together doing something that felt very much like Rob.

This is how we love to remember him each year. We gather to do something fun that he would have loved, share our memories of him, and make sure that even as the years pass, he is never forgotten. We want remembering Rob to be filled not only with how deeply we miss him, but also with the humor, friendship, and fun he brought into our lives.

These gatherings also help us continue Rob’s legacy through the Taft Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year to a college-bound Bishop Eustace student who embodies some of the qualities we loved and admired most about Rob.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for Bowling for Rob and to all those who continue to remember him, celebrate him, and support the scholarship established in his honor.

If you would like to make a donation to the Taft Memorial Scholarship in Rob’s memory, 100% of donations go toward the annual scholarship, helping us pay Rob’s memory forward to another deserving Eustace student.
